We Exist to Foster Lives

of Discovery and Fulfillment

Ann Storck Center is dedicated to enriching the lives of children and adults with developmental disabilities. The mission throughout all our programs and services is to discover ability and build independence so that our individuals live happier, more independent, fulfilling lives.

This takes a whole lot of heart – from our dedicated staff and amazing families to our outstanding leadership, loyal partners, generous supporters and most of all –

the children and adults we serve daily.

Today the Center accommodates 96 permanent residents and serves more than 300 clients                                                                                                   daily through an array of critical care, learning and ability-focused programs across two                                                                                                           campuses in Fort Lauderdale and Pembroke Pines. Our expert services support complex                                                                                                         individuals, working with their intellectual and physical strengths to promote personal growth                                                                                               in skills, creativity and independence. We are the oldest nonprofit in Broward County to

Ann Storck Center is more than a place to assist individuals with developmental disabilities in their discovery of ability and building independence. Today we are a thriving, creative community of possibility. Our talents, resources and programs encompass a broad spectrum of residential, educational, nutritional, therapeutic, artistic, transportation and critical care services.  Beneficiaries come from every income and social situation, span the newborn to elderly in age, and are incredibly diverse in their gifts and talents.

their greatest need is love."

Leading With Love

Our story began in 1951, when pediatric nurse Ann Storck retired to South Florida to open her heart and home to a handful of marginalized children with developmental disabilities. Four years later, she opened the Pediatric Care Center to serve 55 children. The Pediatric Care Center evolved into Ann Storck Center in 1981.

Uncompromising Care

Specializing in one-on-one engagement that is prescriptive and individualized, we develop life-
changing, award-winning programs that influence
the entire landscape for those living with disabilities,

as well as their fully-abled counterparts. Such innovations have earned the Ann Stork Center national merit.

We foster a robust and diverse support network including staff advocates, parents, guardians, teachers, therapists, donors and community partners. Our collective goal is to provide the most inspired programming imaginable to promote the highest level of independence possible.

Life Fulfilled

The outstanding result is our beloved beneficiaries are free to express and exercise choice, a hallmark of our methodology and approach in caring for this deserving population. They are happy and whole. This is where Ann Storck Center shines.

The Center boasts nearly 300 dedicated employees, a majority of whom have been with the organization more than 20 years. This is the greatest testament to our lasting impact on the community and the lives of those we serve.

With new executive leadership in 2023, we celebrated more than 70 years of dedicated service and renewed our most important promise to the community through our mission, vision and core values.
